Research conducted in parabolic flights indicates that optical fibers manufactured in microgravity can be of superior quality compared to those produced under normal gravity conditions. The International Space Station offers a viable platform for the commercial production of these fibers. The Production of Flawless Space Fiber (Flawless Space Fibers-1) investigation is leveraging the space station to showcase new manufacturing technology created by Flawless Photonics, aimed at enhancing the quality and length of optical fibers made in space.
